DAY 1:Kilimanjaro airport- Tarangire National Park, Early in the morning, the guide will pick you up from Kilimanjaro airport and drive you approximately 3 hour to the famous Tarangire National Park. This national park is one of the best places in the whole of East Africa since you get to watch the elephants up close. There are over 4000 animals and these include; Maasai giraffes, antelopes, buffalos, leopards, lions, baboons, and many more bird species. In the afternoon around 13:00hrs you will have a lunch break at silale scenic picnic spot. Post lunch, we will continue with game drives. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.DAY 2:Karatu - Ngorongoro Crater, Post breakfast make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor. The 6-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action, African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.DAY 3:Lake Manyara - Arusha,Eat your breakfast and around 8:30 AM depart to Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. The game drive will go on till afternoon with a small break for a picnic lunch. During the game drive watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and the blue monkeys. Another spectacle of Lake Manyara National Park is the tree-climbing lions, however spotting them is a game of luck. In the right season, you can see the shoreline turning pink with millions of flamingos flocking there. After the game drive head to your accommodation in Arusha where freshly made delicious dinner awaits. DAY 4:Materuni falls, Chagga tribe and coffee plantation tour- Arusha, After breakfast, around 8:00 AM, start the 2-hour drive to Materuni which is located under the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you will do a 35-minute hike to the waterfalls. If the weather is clear, you might get decent views of Mt Kilimanjaro that day. Make sure to wear good boots as the trail can be often muddy. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is a good place for a refreshing swim after the hike so don't forget your swimwear! After having enjoyed the scenery, you will slowly return with your guide to Materuni village where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste the local banana beer which is not to be missed!
Next, the coffee experience awaits you. Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted, and further processed. You will also be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances - a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Post chagga songs and dances experience the next drop-off will be Kilimanjaro airport ready to take-off.
