What you can expect

Spend a full 4 days exploring the natural beauty and rich heritage of the Northeast with a visit to Niagara Falls, a tour of Philadelphia, a stop in an authentic Amish village, and a look at the government buildings and monuments of Washington, D.C.

Day 1: New York – Finger Lakes – Niagara Falls Depart New York City in an air-conditioned bus and head north toward the border. After passing the Delaware Gap’s scenic waterways, make your way to Watkins Glen State Park in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Stretch your legs with a stroll through Watkins Glen Canyon for breathtaking views of its calm pools and tumbling waterfalls.

Drive by tranquil Seneca Lake to arrive at Niagara Falls by late afternoon—the perfect time of day to catch awe-inspiring views of the American Falls and Goat Island. After the sun sets, catch the colorful light show that illuminates the thundering waters before heading to your hotel.

Those crossing over to the Canadian side will enjoy a walking tour of the Horeshoe falls to include Clifton Hill.

Day 2: Niagara Falls – New York After breakfast, we see the impressive Horseshoe Falls. At a towering 170 feet (52 m) tall, this is the largest segment of Niagara Falls. Take a seat on the Maid of the Mist for an up-close encounter with the cascading waters. In winter when Maid of the Mist is closed we will tour the Power Vista HydroElectric Station, and the Cave of the Wind

Depart for your hotel around midday, breaking on the way at a large designer outlet mall to shop for bargains before arriving at the hotel around 8pm.

Day 3 In Philadelphia, check out landmarks from Philly's time as the nation's capital—from the Liberty Bell to Constitution Square. Then leave the city behind for rural Lancaster County, the heart of Amish country. Take a buggy ride, shop for handcrafted goods, and learn about life without modern amenities before continuing to your D.C. hotel.

Day 4 Take a reverent tour of the National Mall to see the Washington Monument and the Lincoln, Korea, and Vietnam memorials. Catch the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery, visit the White house and Capitol building all before returning back to New York in the evening.
