Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark consists of long chains of narrow eskers, rugged cliffs and hundreds of lakes. The forest-covered Salpausselkä ridges were formed at the end of the Ice Age when the retreat of the continental ice sheet’s edge came to a halt.
The best way to experience the unique nature of Salpausselkä is to cycle along the forest and village roads. On our guided cycle tour in Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark, you will see outcrops of ancient bedrock, vibrant lakes, and narrow eskers. You will ride an electric mountain bike or e-fatbike. You need to be able to cycle but you do not need to be a trained cyclist to participate as you can use electricity to aid cycling when needed.
Every great tour has a lunch break! We'll find a nice place where to stop and enjoy a picnic lunch provided by us but carried by each participant in the backpack where you can also keep your water bottle.
