Our safari begins in Dar es Salaam, where travelers will be picked up from their hotel or pre-selected point and transferred to the Magufuli SGR Train Station. Board the modern SGR fast train for a 2-hour trip to Morogoro SGR Station at Kihonda, saving over 90 minutes compared to road travel. On arrival in Morogoro late in the morning, your driver-guide will meet you for a short, scenic transfer to Mikumi National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass through the vast Morogoro region—covering over 70,000 square kilometers, nearly the size of Ireland—with the majestic Udzungwa Mountains rising beautifully on your left. Arrive at Mikumi in time for a morning to midday game drive, the perfect window to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and possibly lions before the heat of the day.
