Our safari begins in Dar es Salaam, where travelers will be picked up from their hotel or pre-selected point and transferred to the Magufuli SGR Train Station. Board the modern SGR fast train for a 2-hour trip to Morogoro SGR Station at Kihonda, saving over 90 minutes compared to road travel. On arrival in Morogoro late in the morning, your driver-guide will meet you for a short, scenic transfer to Mikumi National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass through the vast Morogoro region—covering over 70,000 square kilometers, nearly the size of Ireland—with the majestic Udzungwa Mountains rising beautifully on your left. Arrive at Mikumi in time for a morning to midday game drive, the perfect window to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and possibly lions before the heat of the day. Later, check in at your lodge or camp for lunch, relaxation, dinner, and overnight surrounded by the sounds of nature.

From Morogoro SGR station, this magnificent park lies 27km. approximately 30-35 minutes drive time. Mikumi National Park, is renowned for its diverse wildlife and scenic landscapes. It covers an area of approximately 3,230 square kilometers and is part of the larger Nyerere (Selous) ecosystem. Visitors to Mikumi can observe a wide array of animals, including large herds of elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and wildebeests. Predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas are also commonly seen. The park is home to some rare animals, such as the African wild dog and the elusive eland. Bird enthusiasts can delight in spotting over 400 species of birds, including the lilac-breasted roller, bateleur eagle, and the striking African fish eagle.
