Your journey begins with a comfortable drive from Delhi to Agra, a city steeped in history and romance, famously known as the “City of the Taj.”
Upon arrival, your first stop will be the majestic Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this white marble mausoleum is the epitome of eternal love. Spend ample time exploring its intricate carvings, inlaid semi-precious stones, symmetrical gardens, and capturing the monument’s breathtaking beauty.
Next, visit the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This imposing red sandstone fort served as the residence of Mughal emperors for generations. Walk through its grand courtyards, palaces like Jahangir Mahal and Khas Mahal, audience halls, and enjoy views of the Taj Mahal from the fort’s ramparts.
Later, explore Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb, also known as the “Baby Taj,” a beautiful precursor to the Taj Mahal with delicate marble latticework.
In the evening, visit Mehtab Bagh, the moonlit garden across the Yamuna River, to enjoy a serene sunset view of the Taj Mahal.
After sightseeing, check in to your hotel in Agra for an overnight stay.
