Overview

  • Explore the UNESCO-listed landscapes of Shiretoko on a private 2-day vehicle tour designed for travelers who want to reduce public-transport transfers and luggage handling in eastern Hokkaido.
    Default route: Day 1 – Abashiri, Memanbetsu or Shari → Oshinkoshin Falls → Shiretoko Five Lakes → Cape Puyuni / Shiretoko Nature Center → Utoro. Day 2 – Utoro → Shiretoko sightseeing cruise → Shiretoko Pass → Rausu → confirmed final drop-off.
    Each day includes up to 8 hours from pickup to final drop-off, including driving, parking, sightseeing, meal breaks and waiting.
    This product includes a private vehicle with a regular driver only. No tour guide or guaranteed English-speaking driver is included. Accommodation, meals, admission fees and optional nature activities are not included. Wildlife sightings, boat operation and walking trails cannot be guaranteed. Seasonal road closures may require route changes.

Oshinkoshinno Falls

Stop at one of Shiretoko’s best-known coastal waterfalls. Walk up the short staircase to the viewing platform and enjoy views of the powerful twin falls.

Shiretokogo Lake

Explore one of the signature landscapes of the Shiretoko World Natural Heritage area. For a simple visit, guests may use the elevated wooden boardwalk, which takes approximately 40 minutes round trip and is free during the operating season. The elevated wooden boardwalk can generally be visited independently during the operating season. Ground-trail access follows seasonal rules. From May 10 to July 31, the ground trails can only be visited with a registered Shiretoko Five Lakes guide. Guide fees are not included. Ground trails may close because of brown bear activity or other safety conditions.

Shiretoko Nature Center

Stop for coastal and mountain views or visit the Shiretoko Nature Center for information about the national park, wildlife safety and seasonal conditions. This is a flexible short stop and may be shortened if the Five Lakes visit takes longer.

Shiretoko Nature Center

Enjoy mountain views from the road crossing the Shiretoko Peninsula between Utoro and Rausu. Shiretoko Pass is seasonally closed, usually from late October to early May. If the road is closed, this stop and the route to Rausu will be replaced with suitable stops on the Utoro/Shari side.
