Colchani

Next, we head to Colchani, a small village where locals work in the salt flats. Here, you’ll find unique salt handicrafts and traditional textiles made from llama and alpaca fibers. You can also witness the salt processing ovens, where salt is refined for market consumption.
Salar de Uyuni

Just 5 km away lies the world-renowned Uyuni Salt Flats. Upon entering, you’ll encounter the “Eyes of Water,” small pools of water that rise from beneath the salt crust, and large piles of salt created by the workers, making for a great photo opportunity.
Dakar Monument

Your next stop is the Dakar Monument, a tribute to the famous rally race that passes through this region, followed by a visit to the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, now a museum to avoid environmental contamination caused by overnight stays on the salt flats.

We then journey toward the Thunupa Volcano, where you can witness mesmerizing reflections on the salt flats, especially during the rainy season. If you’re lucky, you might also spot flamingos, along with llamas grazing nearby. Along the way, we'll pause for a special photo session to capture these unique landscapes.
San Juan
At the base of the volcano, there are both salt hotels and traditional accommodations where you will spend the night. After coffee at the lodging, you can enter the salt flats once again to witness the stunning sunset (optional).

For early risers, there's an option to take a morning walk on the salt flats to watch the sunrise, a magical experience in this breathtaking environment.
Tunupa volcano

We drive to the parking area near the Thunupa Volcano. From there, you can visit the Coquesa Mummies, preserved remains that date back centuries. Adventurous travelers can hike up to the first crater without a guide. For those wanting to summit the volcano, a local guide from Coquesa can be arranged.
Isla Incahuasi
. After descending around noon, we continue the tour across the salt flats to visit Incahuasi Island, an island filled with giant cacti and unique vegetation. You can hike to the top of the island for an incredible 360° panoramic view of the salt flats.
Salar de Uyuni
After exploring this otherworldly location, we return to Uyuni, arriving at approximately 5:30 PM.
