Ortigas Center

Visit one of Metro Manila’s shining business districts to see the modern side of the Philippines. Join locals in its chic malls and entertainment venues.

Prepare to be dazzled by the skyscrapers and shops of Ortigas Center, one of Metro Manila’s central business districts. This region, sandwiched between three cities, is immensely popular with locals who come here for the vast, multi-storied malls. Between the shimmering shopping centers, look for religious sites and art galleries that demonstrate Metro Manila’s colorful culture.

Ortigas Center is located in an area known as the “Mall Capital of the Philippines,” such is the proliferation of shopping destinations in this small district. Pick one the many multistory malls and spend a day trying on clothes, eating international food and enjoying the on-site entertainment.

One of the largest and most popular malls in the Philippines is the SM Megamall. This has everything you expect from a giant shopping center, including hundreds of fashion stores and a food court, as well as entertainment venues. Watch the latest blockbusters in multiplex cinemas and explore over a dozen art galleries.

Splash out on high-end clothing in the upmarket Shangri-La Plaza, which features boutique clothing stores surrounding a naturally lit atrium. Browse through more than 400 shops and meet your friends in the Robinsons Galleria Mall. Other malls include the Pioneer Center and the Podium.

Feast on an array of global food in the various outlets hosted in Ortigas Center’s shopping hubs. Pick up fast food on the go or try some of the fine dining options that serve Filipino cuisine. Snack on dishes from America, Korea, France and other cuisines.

Take a break from spending to visit St. Francis of Assisi Church. The bold, ’60s-built exterior hides an ornate, spacious interior. Visit on Sunday to attend one of the nine Masses held throughout the day.

Ortigas Center is located between the three cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong and Quezon City. Its popularity makes it easy to access. The rail system, or MRT, stops twice in Ortigas Center and runs from different cities across Metro Manila. Alternatively, drive here and park in one of the mall parking lots.
