Good stay downtown Prato
Very good apart-hotel in Prato's historic centre. A stone throw away from the fort, the cathedral and the shopping/dining spots. 10-15 min walk away from the train station into downtown Florence. 50 minutes drive away from Pisa. Wifi was surprisingly fast despite the thick stonewalls of the building. Apartments are spacious and well equipped. It's a bit dark, but as expected for a building nestled in the narrow streets of the old downtown. Did not see the staff as owners were on vacation, but they were attentive and helpful through email/Whatsapp. A couple of details that made our stay fall just short of a 5* review: A bit more maintenance would be helpful; the shower door was falling off when being used, for instance. There is a bar with terrace right downstairs which created quite a bit of noise until late at night. The windows were not quite soundproof... Good value for money overall.
