This place is a gem. If you're coming to Vegas for reasons other than mindlessly walking the strip, or you don't like the hassle and noise of the giant hotels, Desert Rose is for you.
I stayed here to access a conference at the Mandalay Bay conference center and it was the greatest. Nice cosy pool that isn't crowded, and the staff were all great, especially Michaela at the bar.
Rooms are spacious and kitchenettes have everything you need. 15 minute walk to Mandalay or Luxor/Excaliber.
Other reviews complained about noise but I did not experience it at all. I was in the center in Building 1 and was not disturbed by any noises.
The only odd thing is the "welcome desk" that they send you to after check-in. For sure this is some kind of experience/timeshare kind of thing, but as a single business traveller they only asked me a couple questions and then handed me an entertainment guidebook and didn't try to sell me anything.
Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

We travel to Las Vegas often and typically stay on the strip. This time we opted for being just off the strip to get a better rate. We were welcomed with complimentary cocktails. The first room we went in smelled like cigarettes so I called the front desk and without hesitation they moved us to a new room.
The property was clean, there is lots of parking, it’s very secure. Easy to walk to the strip when necessary. Convenient and close to the airport as well.
We also appreciated the full kitchen so we could get a few groceries and make our breakfasts.

Always awesome. Great beds, staff and location for quiet pool. Walk block to mgm and cut through for strip. Always a pleasure.

This was our 4th stay at the Desert Rose. This time we were given room 1111 which was on the ground floor with a view of an outside wall and a super small patio. The room seemed dingy and dark which, I'm sure, was because of the location. I will be sure to request a different roon next time.
