Meh, it was okay. The room was tiny, but clean. The bathroom lighting was harsh (as a girl that matters to me haha). The folks at the desk were nice though.

Rooms were small, which is to be expected in Japan, however they were very nicely laid out and comfortable. Bathroom was still a very reasonable size. Staff were friendly, and service was good. Laundry is available and free to use on the second floor, also equipped with dryers - just get detergent from the front desk. Very close to Hankyu line and Randen stations and very walkable to the middle of Kyoto. Lots of food options even late at night, and close to several convenience stores and drug stores.
