The woman on reception was very helpful and friendly. We arrived early and, even though it says no baggage storage, she kindly kept it for us and took it to our room. There was a lift. The room itself wasn’t too small but the bathroom was TINY. I would have preferred slightly less room and slightly more bathroom. If a tall person sat on the loo their knees would touch the door. The width of the bath/shower was approx 45cm! The room was nice and quiet and we were able to control the temperature easily with the air con. There was a kettle, but only green tea and the small cups that go with green tea. There was a hairdryer and toiletries. It was a good area to be based in but after the amazing train and tram network in Tokyo, we were flummoxed on a number of occasions by the buses! Google maps was not accurate in finding the correct bus stop. I would recommend using a bus map and making sure you are going the right way!
I preferred Kyoto to Tokyo but my teenage daughter was the opposite.
There was a really annoying motion sensor security light just inside the room that was really bright and took ages to switch off. We covered it with a sticking plaster to stop it turning on at all! (Of course, we removed it when we left!)
The bed was very hard indeed! I like a firm mattress but this was solid. After 3 nights I had back ache in the morning and didn’t sleep well.
No cleaning, clean sheets or fresh towels (unless you ask at reception for some) at all during your stay.
