Good hotel. Does need some input regarding the needs of European visitors. In particular the breakfasts because the food which should have been warm/hot wasn't always. There was often a lack of glasses, plates, cutlery etc, that necessitated them being requested. Everything is there to bring it to an acceptable level, just better staff training required in that area. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were well equipped and of a good size. Recommended.

Decent hotel - good value

Subway is a 5 min walk. Coffee shop nearby. If you are going to Guangzhou for Canton Fair, there is a shuttle that picks up and drops off twice in the morning, and twice in the evening. Shuttle bus direct to Canton Fair is about 20 min. Hotel is good but not great. Breakfast is decent. Beds are hard. Staffs speaks little English.

Nan Guo Hotel Guangzhou

This is NO WAY a 5-stars hotel. A 3-stars hotel with 4-stars room at most. Location is very remote but two block from subway. There are no good restaurant near by but a few bars and tea house. Bed and room is comfy. In house restaurant is expensive for the kind of food served, out of almost everything. Breakfast is not that good with few selections. There are no coffee or tea in sight but milk in a paper container. The only good part of this hotel is that I could catch the train to the airport in less than an hour for only $1.30

Satisfactory but NOT 5 Star

Posted 1 May 2012 on Hotels
Outdoor pool closed for winter - indoor pool being refurbished, so no pool. Beds very hard (but gather that is norm in many hotels in Guangzhou), breakfast very poor - toaster broken so only toasts on one side! bacon okay, but other choices non-western. Warm milk only, so did not have cereal. Staff v. obliging but most had no english.

A great dissapointment!

Posted 28 Apr 2012
Pros: None
Cons: No hot water in bathroom
Location: Located not far from Pazhou Exhibition complex but very inconveniently ( 5 stpos by Metro but with two changes)
The hotel to have a major refurbishment and very bad management. Practically nobody speaks or understands English. There was luke warm "hot" water in bathroom. The matrass and pillows were terrible.

Not Impressed

Posted 31 Oct 2011
The hotel is under construction! buzzing sounds of workers and equipment in the 3rd and 4th floor prevented me from rest during the day. The hotel is in a decent suburb, but far away from any kind of action / live. Staff is friendly but lacks the local knowledge of the city and surrounding places. Rooms are tidy, but public areas are in a mess.
