This tour of the East Village will highlight many of these sites from the history of the area to the present day. This has been a key location for numerous immigrants during the past two centuries and offers interesting sites to see. The tour concludes in Tompkins Parks where two key statures will be highlighted.

St. Mark's Place

Visit one of the oldest churches on the Bowery where Peter Stuyvesant and his family are buried.

Tompkins Square Park

Visit the park that was the site of riots in the 1980’s. An important statue decide to the Scolum Boat disaster is in the park.

Lafayette Street

Cast iron was used in many buildings on this street. You’ll see magnificent architecture.

St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery

Visit one of the oldest churches on the Bowery where Peter Stuyvesant and his family are buried.
