It was very close to the station and to Malioboro and all that it has to offer: shops, malls, street food, noise, but the area around the hotel was a nightmare to walk as there is so much traffic. We had to take a taxi to Prawirotaman to find a good area of restaurants that expected European clientèle. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant at breakfast was far too crowded, difficult to find a table. The food was not very exciting; it looked nice but most things we tried were pretty tasteless and the toaster did not toast.

Cons: Staff is not accommodating, comes off rude. I booked 4 rooms for 3 nights. I requested an early check in just for 1 room for 12:30pm for my elderly mom to rest, they quickly said no. Without even trying. Comes the time to check in, only 3 rooms available. At first they were to put us on 2 different floors, not acknowledging our special requests which was agreed upon. Had to argue before they gave us 4 rooms on the same floor. AND I didnt get the key for the 4th room until 5/5:30pm. During check out, I asked for ONE room (out of the 4) to have a late check out at 2pm, and had to argue with the staff. You would think after giving us a late check in, they would just give us a late check in, but nope. Had to again argue about it before they gave in. You see, great customer service goes a long way. They get ZERO star on that. Rooms are small. Food was basic. Nothing to brag about. Lets just say, Im not coming back. Pros: Location.

Liked the breakfast, awesome. Ate at the restaurant a couple of times, that was a nice experience, wonderful staff and great food. Walking nearby was an adventure, you have to walk on the street mostly. But it was very handy to the train station and close to Malioboro St which was nice.

- The reception staff were not very inviting or welcoming - The room is actually a lot smaller than it looks in pictures - Breakfast options weren’t very tasty - quite loud due to nearby movements of trains, so it’s hard to get proper rest - the reception can make contact to tell you about the check out time but not when you have something waiting for you at reception…

The fridge should not called for what it is because it's warm. Small room but OK. Noisy. Because Many local guests with kids and many people occupied in same room. The rooftop lounge is the best thing in this hotel. Good views and quiet. The only quiet place in this entire hotel. Many tourists from China. Noisy everywhere. Close to train station and Malioboro St. Some staffs are rather square faces but some others were very polite and well mannered. I wouldn't go back though

The room was clean, tv had good variety, hot water was constant, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is right across from the train station so it's extremely convenient if you arrive by train. There really isn't much to do around the area, except walking along Malioboro St.
