I started a work trip here for 2 nights & I chose it for proximity to Union. Check in was fine - I arrived at 2am but called ahead so they would know. Didn’t have time to thoroughly check my room over after such a long journey. But I assumed it was the Fairmont so why would there be issues. The morning shower I was greeted with a bathtub and enough black man hairs to make me unhappy. I snapped some photos and did my best to clean the tub with shower gel. I went to the desk to let them know - they were very accommodating and prompt to apologize (and gave me a small dining credit). I wouldn’t complain on a review about this if the next thing hadn’t happened. The next morning - anticipating a nice clean shower before the next leg of travel for meetings the shower got stuck ON full blast and scalding hot. I couldn’t turn it off (I checked out and the shower was still on!) When I told the the front desk the situation he wasn’t overly concerned (that I left the shower running) and checked me out without much of a bother. For a $1200 2 night stay - I was expecting a bit more. Maybe they have “Expedia rooms” lol :)

I stayed here at the start and end of my work trip. This night was much better than the first. At check in the computer system was down so I was upgraded for the inconvenience. Scored a luxury king with an excellent view. Staff was amazing and this luxury room was updated - a world of difference from the room I had for 3x the cost when I started my trip.

We were placed in the old section of the hotel. Very dated and certainly showing age and wearing.

Had a great time staying at Royal York! My second stay this month. Had three rooms two standard and one Fairmont Gold. Allison at Gold check in was amazing! James the Valet guy was absolutely amazing. He took great care of us. Dwahal (sp) was amazing at check out at the front desk. Asked and received late checkout for an extra $120 a room. We greatly appreciated that! The only drawback to this hotel is their limited room service. They need to go back to pre-Covid times. We did however utilize Uber eats and was able to order food after 3am.

Great property and amazing staff. Sadly the pool wasn’t open and cold water was turned off for a couple of hours during the night and wasn’t working in our room at 6 AM
