A Gem Tucked in the Woods!!

Pros: We liked everything
Location: The hotel is great if one has a car to explore the Aso and Kuju regions.
We stayed at the Akagawa Onsen Spaju as a base to visit the Aso and Kuju regions and the hotel was all we expected. It was quiet and slightly off the touristy centers, with an outdoor as well as an indoor onsen. Set off the main road into the woods, it gave a certain charm. The check in was quick and friendly as we were the only guests at the time. Choose a room with a balcony overlooking the meadow, as those would have a nice view. We would definitely recommend this hotel

Isolated guest house with indoor and outdoor onsen
Posted 11 Apr 2017Host very friendly, accommodating. But on-site restaurant advertised is only open on Saturdays, and the dining at the hotel across the road is very basic, with last order 7:30 pm. No breakfast, either!

ゆっくりくつろげる大満足な宿
Posted 8 Sep 2023 on Hotels食事なしのパッケージでしたが、くつろげるホールや卓球台もあり、お風呂も予約制で、家族で楽しくゆったり過ごすことができました。大満足でした。

屋根のあるBBQスペースがあり、テーブルやカセットコンロ等はそれぞれ有料で借りることができます。車15分くらいの場所にはレストランもいくつかあるようでした。卓球台もあり自由に楽しむことができます。スタッフの方は親切でした。
