At the last minute my flight was cancelled. Hotel GMS refused to refund ANY of my money. Yes, there was a cancellation policy, but there should be some leniency for circumstances beyond an individual’s control. I would understand if they needed to keep some of it, but they kept over $1,000. That is unethical.

Hotel is great, very clean and modern. In a great district for food and shopping. The bed is the equivalent of sleeping on a stone floor

PROS: the hotel is clean and comfortable and the room was a good size. It's close to the Yeongdeungpo train station, just a quick 5 minute walk. There's a variety of places to eat nearby from Korean, to American, to sushi and pho. There's plenty of shopping nearby a well with the Lotte and Shinsegae department stores and the Time Square Mall all less than a 10 minute walk away. The IFC mall is also a short taxi or train ride away.
CON: check-in doesn't start until 5pm but the staff let us store our luggage while we wandered around so this wasn't a big deal for our stay.
