Absolutely beautiful property that lived up to its “Private by Nature” motto. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we barely ever left the resort. We appreciate all the care and dedication that went into the concept and design of this property. It is the perfect place for guests who want to relax and rejuvenate, far from the craziness of San Pedro. It was the perfect spot for our babymoon.

An oasis within hectic Ambergris Caye
Posted 18 Feb 2024 on HotelsFar from the noise and hectic life in San Pedro, you have Matachica. Inside the grounds, it is calm and peaceful, with stand alone beautiful casitas. The staff is amazing and friendly, and everything was immaculate. Since you were far from everything, you wanted a golf cart to explore, and maybe get to other restaurants. We gave it 5 stars, but the service missed the mark. When we asked for suggestions to rent gold cars, they simply said Google it and look at the reviews. Suspect they had some bad experiences, but would expect more. The service in the casual restaurant was very slow, and the servers were not tuned into checking with the guests to see how it was going. One night we moved from our table to the bar, and were immediately served. They did nice little things like a Super Bowl party and sweets for Valentine’s Day. We were not formally advised about bag pickup and departure time…had to ask at the desk. Overall, would stay again.
