Very nice small and older hotel. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Close to restaurants and transportation. Perfect if you want to explore San Francisco, especially Chinatown.

I had the suite and I feel that the price was fair. Great location and clean room. No complaints from me. You have to enter with a key card at night so I felt the hotel was secure with the front desk always watching. Will stay again. I made some memories with my childhood friends I will remember forever.

Keep in mind the bathrooms are EXTREMELY TINY like a hand distance from toilet to sink to shower.. no matter what size room unless you get the suite the bathrooms are insanely small so if that’s not your cup of tea book elsewhere. Hotel was nice.. construction and paint fumes when we walked in but other wise in the process of being renovated which is nice. Really convenient location, loud at night otherwise good deal for a lower priced hotel. No housekeeping unless you stay over 4 days

Our boutique hotel is 111 years old, so we do have an extremely small footprint. I think you nailed it, "if that's not your cup of tea book elsewhere." Reviews and our responses are a great way to educate potential guests on what to expect. Our lobby renovation is almost complete, with just a few finishing touches. This hotel is a quick walk to public transportation (highly recommend to utilize the muni. it's fast, affordable and easy to use!) near many places to eat, and have very warm and welcoming staff!

This hotel was great. Good location. I loved that they kept the old bone and character of the hotel but updated where they could. The hotel is 100yrs old so the room size reflects that still good. I almost didn't stay here because some of the comments made me feel it was unsafe. As a solo female traveler I felt as safe as I could in a big city. Even walked a couple blocks for a late night snack and was fine. I do wish they mentioned that they charged your card before you arrive at the property. Only because I thought my card info was stolen for a bit.I will be staying here again sometime.

I am glad you appreciated the history of a hotel such as ours. We are lucky to have a central location and it is great to read you felt safe, even late at night. Our hotel is surrounded by great restaurants and bars so feeling safe walking around is a big part of the guest experience. Regarding the credit card charge. If you reserve a non-refundable room we charge your card right away. If you reserve a refundable room we get an approval only on your card 24-hours before your arrival, to make sure your reservation is valid. Once again, thank you so much for the review. Cheers,

Missed my flight, and needed a place to crash for a few hours mid day. The staff were so friendly and accommodating! The room while nicely furnished showed some signs of wear and tear. Good location, comfy bed, and most of all great staff! Enjoyed my time here more than my stay at the five star Taj Hotel, and spent a lot less!!!!
