Beautiful on the mountainPosted 10 12, 14
We had rain and wind, so we really enjoyed the fire place in the house. Nice park, easy to walk around, great food (simple but good), nice villages around etc.

Beautiful place, pleasant stay -- but confusing!Posted 04 18, 14 on Hotels.com
Pros: We booked what we thought was one room with two twin beds and an ensuite, and it turned out to be half of a cabin: two rooms, each with two twin beds, a bathroom, full kitchen, fireplace, living room, and porch with an amazing view of Mt. Kinabalu. We had a wonderfully pleasant stay here. The food was much better than expected. Skip the buffet dinner and go to the a la carte dinner place instead (and try a steamboat, yum!). Cheaper AND tastier. Cons: hotels.com is very confused about what and where this hotel is. I had printed my booking, and we drove to Kinabalu National Park with it. We stopped inside the park to ask someone if they had any idea where this hotel we booked was (that seems to have no real name, and no real address), and the locals had no idea. We called the hotel phone number, but nobody picked up. Eventually, the hotel inside the park in which we were inquiring found our name in their list and said that the reservation was with them! It's not hard to find; it's only hard to find because hotels.com is so confused about it. It's the Sutera Harbour Resort inside Mt. Kinabalu National Park. Also, it's a shame the room types are so messed up online as well: while pleasantly surprised with lots of room, we wish we'd known we had a whole cabin with an extra room, because we would have brought friends! But, bottom line: book here. Definitely the nicest and most convenient accommodation around. I was very glad we stayed here.

Great location in the Kinabalu ParkPosted 01 6, 14
We stayed in Peak Lodge, with a great veiw of Mt. Kinabalu. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location if you want to spend several days in the park. Restaurant staff also very friendly, but many things on the menu were not available, and continental options for breakfast are limited to bread, jam, cornflakes and egg (not uncommon for Asia though).

Fabulous Kinabalu ParkPosted 01 17, 12 on Hotels.com
To truly take full advantage of your time in this wondrous park, you should stay in this hotel. The public areas and rooms are tastefully furnished. the only complaint we have is the hot water system in the room: you get very hot water for the first minute and then the rest of it is tepid at best. They ought to fix that for the $ they charge. Avoid the Balsam Restaurant unless you're very hungry. It's expensive buffet only. The Liwagu Restaurant has a la carte and it is good.
