Occidental Caribe resort was great. The resort had a lot of options at the buffet for everyone. There is a variety of a la carte restauraunts but you have to make a reservation like all resorts. Santos helped us upon arrival. We were having a challenge checking in about 1 hour early but he really went above and beyond to accomodate us. We were very grateful. Rey from entertainment did a great job keeping the tourists happy. He was grateful and thanked individuals for participating and asked if we were enjoying our time and what the resort offered. Thanks for a great stay.

Be prepared for older property with room issues like poor AC, sliding glass doors to patio that are very difficult to open and confused staff as they don’t have enough English speaking staff members. I realize it DR but they advertise as a multilingual staff. I guess you could say that true but it is still difficult to communicate. You can’t complain about the cleanliness. They are on that. Also, the beach location and overall property is beautiful. This was our second time here and probably our last.

This property ia running because the staff cares about the guest They are doing there best but upper management is no where to be found and the hotel as no working AC in any area or rooms Also equipment in restaurants is falling appart and employees trying to serve as best as they can

Title: Disappointing Stay Despite Beautiful Grounds and Friendly Staff I recently stayed at Occidental and unfortunately, my experience was not as pleasant as I had hoped. I had to change rooms twice due to issues with dust, cleanliness, and general upkeep. The first room I was given reminded me more of a motel than a resort, with paint peeling off the walls and a generally outdated feel. The second room was slightly better, but it still had its problems. The TV did not work, and by the third day, the toilet stopped flushing. These issues significantly impacted my stay, as having functional amenities is a basic expectation. The best aspect of this resort was undoubtedly the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and truly made an effort to accommodate my needs. The grounds of the hotel are also beautiful and well-maintained, offering a pleasant environment. However, the rooms themselves desperately need renovation and a higher standard of cleanliness. I consider myself a humble traveler and not high maintenance, but these rooms did not meet even basic expectations. Overall, while the people and the setting of the resort have great potential, the rooms require serious attention to make this a desirable place to stay.

Nice building and pool and nice room. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. Service was poor to non-existent. Breakdowns numerous such as the elevators. Not enough clean sheets without half a days wait. Plastic glasses at the bar because they ran out of glass ones. Frequent breakdown of the room TV. Not enough staff to cope with the larger amount of people on the weekends. Food in general not that good and service at the restaurants very slow and courses get forgotten. Amount of food for each course quite small. This resort could be top-notch but is years away from being a top resort. I won't be back. I feel I should get some type of refund.

First the check in was 2 hour waiting time the air conditioner not working they said the will.fix never happen
