Please be patient as I explain both the pros and cons of Hotel Berna. We booked one room for a single room with 2 separate beds, my friend and I were traveling for leisure. When we arrived we were told the room had only a single bed. I showed the front desk representative the receipt showing we requested separate beds. Now here is where I give credit for surperior customer service. At first they tried to separate the beds thinking it was setup as 2 doubles stuck together. That didnt work as it was one queen bed. Since they were fully booked that night excelt for one other room elft they gave us that room for me at no chargem The rpe at front desl also offered me free juice and water bottles. The next day I went to front desk and a new guy offered us free breakfast vouchers AND 2 free drink vouchers at their bar. Later that day they gave us a room that opened up and was an upgraded room with huge bathroom. Everyday we were there the front desk staff ajd smiles on their faces and helped with any questions or requests we had (called taxis, location of places, etc.). As for the location, it was in a cool spot with local restaurants all right downstairs. Parking however is another story. They dont offer parling as they dont own any parling soaces, if you come with a vehicle you must drive around until you find a spot on street. NOTE: They say you must apy at a machine for parking but a local told me that nobody ever gives tickets and we never received one.

The only issue I have, is that we had an early checkout. When I asked the gentleman at the counter about getting a 5 am taxi, he tried to sell me on a car service to the airport. I knew that it was only a 10-15 minute drive, and even quicker at 5am. The man said, “ you never know about taxi costs, can be 30-50 euro, depending on traffic.” Depending on traffic? It’s 5 am, there wasn’t anyone on the road, it took less than 10 minutes and cost €11. The car service was €55. I felt like he wasn’t looking out for my interests. Also, it took all of 2 minutes for the cab to arrive.
My suggestion is to have your clients best interest always.

The offer of happy hour is excellent. I didn't want to have heavy dinner last night after all day travelling. A glass of wine and some snacks are most appreciated. 👌

Great location if you want to be near the train station. Staff was friendly. We stayed in tower annex, was safe and easy access. Room was very clean but tight. Bathroom was very small and tight. Street noise from local restaurants and cafes was loud at night. Overall our stay was very good. I would recommend the hotel
