Average hotel, close to US Embassy.Posted 08 16, 14
Pros: Close to US Embassy. Not far from several museums. Several international channels on flat screen TVs.
Cons: Hotel in process of renovations. Areas near hotel need to be revitalized.
Location: Near Rizal Park, Manila Water Park, National Museum, Museum of Filipinos, St Augustin Museum, Intramuros and US Embassy. Starbucks attached to hotel.
3 star hotel. The price is about what you would expect. Manila prices are not Thailand, Vietnam etc prices, they are closer to US prices. Hotel will charge an additional fee (3000php) on check in, to be refunded upon check out, this seems to be fairly normal for the Philippines although amount will vary by hotel. Hotel is dated. Currently they have started renovations. Bar was closed for renovation. Pool and other areas not quite as nice as photos. Beds may be a bit firm for some used to pillow tops, they are acceptable, especially after walking around the area. Those whom are light sleepers may be bothered by noise from Roxas Blvd. (You are in a city, what do you expect?) Staff is very pleasant. Some of the restaurant staff is fairly shy so you may have to get their attention if you need anything. The (free) internet is terrible, really only good for checking email. Cab drivers have poor knowledge of area. Had to give them directions to places they should known. About 200php to get to National Museum because bad traffic and cab driver didn't know location. Hotel cab is over priced, use meter cab and make sure they turn it on. Hotel wanted 350php to take me to Manila Water Park, cab wanted 100php, metered it was about 55php. If you are not used to seeing, armed security guards at every business (including Starbucks), sidewalk peddlers, panhandlers, beggars and homeless, (many of which are abandoned children) you probably shouldn't travel outside your comfort zon

Location: Great location on Roxas Blvd. Just across from the U.S. Embassy and many close restaurants and bars.

Staff SecurityPosted 08 10, 14
Pros: The spacious rooms were great. Food was delicious and plentiful.
Cons: Staff alertness to rm# security. Have next customer wait until key is issues before they step-up to counter to be checked in.
Location: Great relocation for US Embassy business--directly across the street. 1 block away from Miramar Hotel which has great sing-along Piano Bar.
The room was great. Just need to reinforce to the staff not yell out room numbers with other guest come crowding the counter. This happened to me and I didn't know the woman who came and leaned on the counter before I was finished my checking in process.

Looks good but isn'tPosted 08 6, 14
Pros: I like the location near Yellow Cab Pizza, the Bay area and the U.S. Embassy.
Cons: The customer service at this hotel has been crap for about 4 years and it never changes. This is a problem with management, nothing less.
Every time I come to this hotel I have problems with customer service. The girls at the front desk always look like they would like to be anywhere else but behind the front desk. When I checked out I found out I was double billed for my laundry. After about 15 minutes of phone calls the clerks finally realized that I had already paid my bill but I got no smile or apology for having to wait. The girl could not have looked more bored or serious.

Nice hotelPosted 07 28, 14
One of the best things about this hotel is that its easy to find. Its on the main road that runs through Malate so there is less chance of the taxi drivers driving around pretending they don't know where the hotel is. You will be taking taxis everywhere as the area around the back of the hotel is a bit dodgy. Overall I enjoyed my stay there and would use the hotel again if I went back to the Philippines.

Big Room. Ok facilitiesPosted 07 25, 14
Pros: The room size and the staff
Cons: The control of the AC Temp
Location: It's near Baywalk and the US Embassy. If you have an appointment with the US Embassy, this is a good place to stay in the night before.
The hotel staff are friendly and courteous. I love the room size. It is bigger than the usual hotel rooms we get at this price. The batroom is also big. Generally clean. But the A/C is not as cool as we want it to be. The temp is acceptable...but we prefer it to be cooler.

It's always a good experience to stay in this hotel. The location is great. The staff are very friendly. The room is nice and clean... so comfortable. My family loves the buffet breakfast. I will definitely be staying here every time I visit the country.
