Big Room. Ok facilities

Posted 07 25, 14
Pros: The room size and the staff
Cons: The control of the AC Temp
Location: It's near Baywalk and the US Embassy. If you have an appointment with the US Embassy, this is a good place to stay in the night before.
The hotel staff are friendly and courteous. I love the room size. It is bigger than the usual hotel rooms we get at this price. The batroom is also big. Generally clean. But the A/C is not as cool as we want it to be. The temp is acceptable...but we prefer it to be cooler.

We stayed at Bay View Park Hotel..At 10 in the evening an email arrived and it had to be printed to be used early the next morning. The business office already closed. But the reception guys accommodated my request and got my printed email immediately. More power to you guys.!!!!!!

Please stay away from this hotel if you need good Internet connection. I stayed here many times and so far never had a good experience with wi-fi connection.

Pros: good breakfast
Cons: always put me facing toward manila bay
Location: excellent location, upgrade to 5 star
Note to hotel management - I go on vacation to the Philippines once a year , being a Filipino myself , I like to walk along Roxas blvd . and the best place for me to stay is at the bayside hotel, as you can see of my number of reservations from way back then. please make a note at your computer next time I decide to stay at your hotel , to have my room ready when I checked in. last time I have waited for almost two hours at the lobby.

Leftovers.

I booked my stay 1 month in advance for a non smoking room. Was offered a smoking room and told it was my only choice. After taking a quick look and declining I was given a very strange room that had a window with a view of a hallway with bright lights and thin curtains. Made for a great night light. The bill was already charged to my account and I feared my 3rd choice, so I delt with it for a whole week. The room itself was fine. Just a bit odd and very expensive. Won't stay here again.

General Macarthur might have stayed here.

Pros: Best deal for the night that I booked it, at the time that I booked it.
Cons: maybe a refurb is in order?
Location: Had dinner at the Emerald restaurant nearby, it was OK. Nothing special.
This is a nice but OLD hotel. There seems to have been NO renovation since it was new back during the Truman administration. There are no outlets near the bed in my room. So, if you require a device with a power outlet to sleep, you're out of luck unless you have an extension cord, or do what I resorted to. Move the bed closer to an outlet. The wifi hotspot was mounted on the wall in my room! That made it all the more puzzling when I was unable to connect to the net. I called the front desk, they checked, and said it worked for them, but opened a ticket anyway. I went to the lobby, and they were right. It DID work there. So, I wanted to surf from the lobby while they worked on getting the room's connection to work. No dice. To surf from the lobby, you have to PAY. Even if you're a guest! unacceptable! They DID eventually get the connection up, but it was about 45 minutes later. The breakfast buffet has a lot of variety, but the quality isn't what you'd expect. It qualifies for a definite "OK", but there was no item on it that excelled in any way. Bland is a common theme.

Close to the Embassy

Posted 05 23, 14
Pros: Across the street from the embassy
It is right across the street for the US embassy. Great breakfast, American and Philippine food so they have food for every taste. Staff very friendly.
