Nice Place

Posted 04 10, 14
Pros: Everything
Cons: No
Location: US Embassy across the street, the Park 1 block away and UN Blvd on the corner.
Good location if one has different directions and great staff. They have nothing exceptional yet one may feel a little special while staying at The Bay View. Price is right and one gets more that what they paid for. Stayed many time over the years and will continue to make that our first stop.

Average hotel

Posted 04 9, 14
Pros: Nothing much
Cons: Needs more renovation
Location: Closed to the malls
Noisy air condition and smelly room. Some desk attendants are not helpful and arrogant, especially that girl with a long hair and long chin. I won't recommend this hotel anymore to my friends and relatives.

Extended stay after airlines lost baggage

Posted 04 5, 14
Pros: Promo rate with free breakfast and fairly dependable wifi, along with assistance during a difficult couple of days recovering lost bags from airlines.
Cons: Promo included free local calls but had difficult time getting them due to lack of communications between staff.
Location: Excellent view of Manila Bay, near to downtown shopping including the Mall of Asia, lots of ethnic restaurants with decent food and prices.
Booked room online with promo after stateside visit. Upon arrival in Manila discovered airlines had lost my baggage. Bayview staff understanding and helpful, allowing me to keep promo rate for two extra nights while recovering my missing luggage. They even included the free breakfast buffet both additional mornings there during my stay.

Good

Posted 04 4, 14
Pros: Spacious. Affordable.
Cons: Room somehow has a gloomy vibe. Please add more color or lighting.
We stayed there for 2 nights. The room was spacious since we got a free upgrade. One thing that really creeps us out is the noise coming from the A/C system. Not sure if it was the A/C system though, but it scared us a lot. Mostly louder during the night. Overall, our room is good for the price.

Good night sleep

Quiet, clean room. Backside of building with view of alley and delapidated buildings but that is probably why the room was so quiet. Was very disappointed the pool closed at 5pm as we were planning on using it in the evening because the area is not safe to be out in after dark.

1st time in Manila

Posted 03 13, 14
Pros: The pool and location.
Location: The mall was real close and the Embasy too.
The hotel was what we expected. The room was big and comfortable and the pool was a great decision since my 9 year old daughter can never get enough of swimming. The location was perfect for what we needed to do and we were very pleased with everything. Thank you

Not in a great part of town, but close to airport.

Posted 03 11, 14
Pros: Not much. Close to the airport. Good breakfast.
Cons: Management and staff could do with some training and revamp their business practice. Customers do not like hearing "Can't do" all the time.
Location: Location is not great. A couple of fast food outlets near by that looked ok and a nice restaurant on the water about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
We had prior booked a room for three and then a month before our stay notified them that we had our son joining us and so booked two rooms for two each. On arrival we expected a refund for the third person because now she was staying in the second room. They told us this was not possible. Why? No reason given. Ok, maybe the amount could be applied to a meal at the restaurant? No, not possible. So end result was four of us staying but having to pay for five! The cost of the extra person is not huge but it is the principle and the fact that it is of course easy to deduct the cost of one person from one room and apply it to the other room. I too am in business and this is simply not good business practice. Maybe the Bayview management need to appreciate that in this modern age reviews like this put out the message that such antiquated and poor customer service comes back to bite them. On top of that after several attempts they continued to give the wrong wifi password and when it came time for a shower the cold tap just did not turn on, hot only. They did give us another and better room but generally poor service and not a happy memory. The hotel is clean but looks tired with paint and carpet showing their age. Management need to come into the 21st century.
