Good location. Rustic. Just what you would expect in the location.

There was a big storm and we lost electricity with no estimated time to be fixed. We had to go in to a town hotel because my husband has to have his cpap machine. The food prices were sky high like $22 for chicken strips with fries. By 3 days later there still was no electricity even in the visitor center.

I knew this was going to be rustic. It's a cabin in the woods, but I still was hoping for something a little cleaner. The only way to get ventilation was to open the windows. There were screens on the windows but one of the screens was not tight against the frame so there was a nice space for bugs to enter. We did not open that window. The window sills were full of bugs and cobwebs. There was also a dead caterpillar on the bathroom floor.! Very thick and so white. Beds were just ok. The shower was small, which I could accept due to the cabin layout, but there was supposed to be a shut off valve on the shower head. It didn't work.

Unfortunately, Skyland is rundown and dirty with dust and dirt on the bedroom floors and peeling paint. Paying almost $200.00 per night (with taxes) should enable one to at least enjoy a clean room and better food options that reflect the area. There should also be an expectation that the staff are educated about the birds and wildlife in the area. Case in point - there was a nest just outside the main office door. When I asked the front desk clerk what type of birds were in it, she simply said, "I have no idea" and made no attempt to find out. We were very disappointed. Fortunately, the trails and the scenery remain sacred. Delaware North, the current management company, should be ashamed and held accountable.

Lost electrical power. For a long time. Had to leave. Very little info. Waiting for info took forever. Prices for food was ridiculous.

The area and views from balcony are unique! Rest are in such a shape that after 2 days of being in so much beautiful place, I wonder if the stay was worthy!
Room door lock does not work (literally had to struggle everytime), bathroom lock the same! Had an empty shower gel container. No napkins, no WiFi (so if u r not a 8pm go to bed person u r stuck with 12 tv channels). Food was good but service was terrible (first day dinner was quite good, second day it seemed the waitress did not want to serve). Waited 40 mins for food - and it’s ok dining restaurant. Anywho, now come to front desk, no ones is ever there. Waited 10-15mims to get some shower gel and coffee pods, could not find anyone the three times I went there in two days. But hey the property literally is in the middle of heaven. So ….
