The property is currently under renovation around pool area and the restaurant wasn’t open due to the construction, I think they should let you know that the renovation will affect your stay when you book the stay.

Most of the property is under construction including both restaurants. Still they will charge you the full resort fee despite the lack of amenities. Also, forewarning, if you book through a travel site like Expedia they will put you in the worst available room. Would rather stay elsewhere, pretty disappointed.

This was a wonderful experience at the Royal Sonesta in Kauai, Hawaii. The staff were incredibly friendly and the overall atmosphere was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely choose this hotel for my next vacation.

Booked this trip many months ago. The resort is currently being renovated and a the main restaurant is closed. Our room had been refurbished and was very nice. The pool is huge, however, sections of it were closed due to the construction. Rooms were serviced every other day. Towels and coffee etc. needed to be requested. Paper cups were supplied for coffee, but no drink glasses or wine glasses. The resort is a beautiful spot and would like to come back sometime and hopefully when the work is completed. Why are the numerous resort taxes not included in the cost of the room or is there some way you can be exempted from them? Let people know that construction is going on when they book.

We have relocated the seating area temporarily to the beach front lawn. Wine glasses and drinking glasses have not yet made their way back into our rooms, but it is definitely something I can suggest to our leadership teams.
