Ok 2 nights.

Fairly ok, with some staff trying hard. A middle of the road type resort aimed at families rather than those looking for peace and tranquillity. A bit on the expensive side for what it was. They are up-front with fees & have 24hr electricity. After carrying our own bags from the jetty reception staff greeted us with a welcome drink. At this point we discovered the on-going building and expansion works which killed the relaxed and peaceful resort feel. We feel this should have been made clear upfront prior to booking; but noticed it was a theme of most resorts during off-peak. The staff had pro-actively upgraded us to a room less affected by the noise. B&B included afternoon tea; consisting of toast and mini doughnuts. The room was well presented, a good size, clean, comfortable, good wifi and hot water. There was drinking water but no in-room tea & coffee facilities; these were provided at reception. There was a non-working safe. It seemed odd that all the rooms and balconies looked in-wards, towards each other rather than towards the sea view. Breakfast was so-so; as a vegetarian I had beans, vegetables and toast. Nice view of the beach, but spoilt by the sound of hammering. The beach area had good snorkelling; lots of fish and some colourful corals. It was quite sheltered = good visibility. When relaxing we only had to go a little way down the beach to escape the noise.

Great but with room for improvement

Posted 27 Apr 2017
1) Buffet options rather limited 2) Many menu options at Mamak & some at Okeechobee Sushi & Grill aren't available. When combined it makes you feel as though a lot aren't available, which is disappointing, especially when they are supposedly signature dishes. Having said that, whatever that WAS available was good. Prices were sky high though. 3) Rooms are decent. Spacious. Overall clean, floor was sticky though when we arrived, and no bedroom slippers available. 4) Staff were a mixed bag. Some were fantastically polite, helpful, attentive & pleasant. Some were disinterested & in need of training in terms of frontline service delivery (i.e poor listening skills & general lack of pleasantness...no smiles. We requested that an equipment rental charge be billed to our room, had to repeat our room # 3 times before she got it. But she responded 'Ok' the first 2 times we told her.) 5) There's a fish pond on the grounds, it was stinking by our 4th day there, we had to walk past it everyday :( 6) Many smashed rose apples on the ground too, needs to be swept. 7) The beach area itself is beautiful & clean.

Great snorkeling, good rooms, bad food

Posted 19 Sep 2016 on Hotels
The amazing: Great sea-life on doorstep of resort. Live corals with lots of different sea life. Baby sharks swimming around your ankles. No need to go for snorkelling trips around the island. Just wade into the ocean! The good: Room was big and beds were comfortable. Each room has two toilets who double up as showers to accommodate having 4 in the room. The bad: Didnt go for the full package to save some $$$. The food caters for the predominantly Chinese tourists (both local Msian and from PRC). We ate twice at the Japanese which was quite expensive with small portions. We ate once at the "mamak" who had friendly staff but the kitchen broke down and it took a long time to serve us - and even what was served was not good. We went once to the cafe at the next resort and the food and service there is much better (ie decent)

Wonderful beach and snorkeling!

Posted 2 Sep 2016 on Hotels
This was a great place to stay if you love snorkeling! Excellent variety of fish on the reef right off the beach from the hotel. If you are looking for a 5 star luxury hotel, this is not for you, but it is a fine place to stay if you snorkel or dive. The buffet food is ok but not great. We found the best place to eat was the little coffee bar next to the dive shop. All the staff like this place to eat too.

rapporto qualità -prezzo pessimo.

Posted 26 Aug 2018
L'isola ha 3 resort. Noi abbiamo alloggiato in 2 di questi. Brutte strutture, igiene scarsa, prezzi elevati, cibo scadente. Si approfitta della bellezza del mare x speculare sugli ospiti. Non Andateci. Inoltre il Summer Bay ha anche uno staff poco cordiale e x niente disponibile

跟四脚蛇共处了几天

Posted 24 Jul 2017 on Hotels
