We didn't realize that it was a ryokan. It was nice to have that style of room with tatami mats, sliding shoji screens etc. It backs onto a river which was nice.

My family loved our stay here. The free drink bar and dining area were great! We loved the mineral bath too. Highly recommend this hotel and village.

This is such a unique opportunity to stay in a real Japanese household. The owner didn't speak much English but with a help of phone translation we could figure out everything. The place is a bit away so we had a person in tourist office to call and the owner picked us up and next day drop us off. We received dinner and a breakfast and food was very tasty. This is not for fancy folks but for someone who is looking for a good rest and a unique experience. You only can book it through a tourist office in town.

Our room was on the 4th floor right above the river. Sitting in the enclosed balcony was divine. We enjoyed the onsen (Japanese hot pools) and we enjoyed dinner with red wine for a very reasonable price.

The staff was extremely helpful in fixing a mix-up on our reservation. Location was great for us as we like to walk and explore.

Great place to stay in Kiso!
Posted 13 Aug 2023 on HotelsLow key ryokan with onsen. Big rooms, good breakfast, nice amenities, and free drinks all day. Comfortable and welcoming. Great value for your money! Highly recommend.
