Great stay at a quiet resort near Kamala beach
Posted 17 Mar 2024 on HotelsWe really enjoyed our stay at Namaka! The resort is very nice, with two separate infinity pools, a swim-up bar, and a poolside restaurant, and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. When we visited the resort wasn't too busy, so there was never a problem finding shady loungers and getting into the pool without it being crowded. A few specific things to note:
1) Several reviews I've seen (both here and on Google) call out the resort for being "dated" and "dirty". My guess is that these are people who booked Namaka as a cheaper option compared to other high-end resorts in the area and are upset when it's not as nice. Is there some slight wear-and-tear in the rooms? Sure, if you want to nit-pick, but it served our purposes just fine and we didn't spend too much time in the rooms anyways so it didn't matter. The rest of the resort felt clean and modern, and for the price it felt like a steal.
2) We opted to pay for the optional breakfast buffet and would highly recommend! It felt like a great deal, with a lot of tasty options, and it runs all morning so you don't have to rush down early to eat.
3) Know going in that Namaka is somewhat far from Kamala beach itself. The hotel does offer a free shuttle, but it mostly runs in the afternoon. We opted to walk instead, which worked fine for us (we like to be active), and the road into town isn't too busy so it felt safe. Bring a flashlight (included in the room) with you if walking the road at night.

Amazing stay at Namaka.
Posted 5 Feb 2024 on Hotels The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds. We had early morning tours and the hotel staff made sure that we had towels and breakfast boxes ready to go by 5 AM. When we arrived back in the late afternoon, the hotel is a short taxi ride to great restaurants for dinner and shopping.
