I do not know if the ladies at coffee shop on the lower ground floor are employees of Fairmont or independently run cofee shop. I thought they could do better with giving a bit of smile. The only room for improvement I would like to share from the recent stay at Jasper Park Lodge. Other than that it was 11 out of 10.

Lovely location but hotel bedrooms on upper floor of main lodge in dire need of renovation.

JPL has gone down in quality on all aspects. JPL’s breakfast used to be one of the best breakfasts in Jasper. Their buffet is now subpar to a common diner breakfast. When we stayed there, it was the mayfly season. It was impossible to walk around the resort without walking through swarms of them. But, that wasn’t bad at all compared to the swarms of mosquitoes. Our cabin was full of them. We had contacted the front desk and asked for some mosquito repellent. They said someone was going to bring it over and no one did. My wife has an allergy to mosquitoes and we ended up checking out a day early to avoid the consequences. When we explained the situation to the JPL front desk they pretty much said “too bad, so sad.” While staying there, we had dinner at Orso Trattoria. While the service was amazing, the food choices were very pedestrian and unappetizing. It was a very disappointing experience. I don’t think we’ll be returning to JPL.

Quite disappointed overall. The reputation of the hotel was not upheld. While some factors such as very loud neighbours are out of their control, the overall cleanliness of the room was disappointing and very dated for the cost of accommodations. Most amenities were unavailable for the current season, and those available, such as the pool, was overcrowded. Dinner took an hour to come out and was not brought all together, some apologies were made to correct the matter, but most of what was said was sorry without any other follow up. Overall experience was less than satisfactory and I would not stay here again.

The spring season is a transition time where the snow activities are limited, however, we do offer yoga /fitness classes, bike rentals, a golf simulator and experiences classes (photography,heritage tours) for our guests, in addition to the pool and hot tub access. We have also embarked this Feb on a multi year, multi phase renovation project that will ensure a refresh to our guest rooms and some public spaces.
