Property was nice. Service was great. Place is dated but probably the best hotel in the area. No high end resorts in Hilo that I could find. Food and drinks were good. Small pool but was clean and nice view of ocean. Also I think you can only valet you vehicle which could get expensive if you are there multiple nights in addition to reset fees. It Was $75 extra for fees and valet plus tips for 1 night. Was satisfied w resort for the one night airport stay.

Our stay at the grand Naniloa was ok. I would say 3 stars. Not 4 and it wouldn't allow me to unclick that 1 star. Staff was great but the only down fall I really hated about staying here is because I feel they did not accommodate the guests parking at their property. Every parking stall in the property was only valid for valet parking which was $25. Can u imagine paying that for everyday of your stay. They make you park across the street in a remote empty parking area where there is low light visibility, pavement had really big and small potholes, no security whatsoever, felt unsafe. Why do they have to make all parking stall just for valet? I find that very inconvenient and it's like they was punishing their guests and just wanted our money.

The staff misguides you with regards to parking service. They charge $25 per day for valet service but there is a free parking lot right across the hotel. We had also requested daily cleaning service (we were a family of four in a room with two Queen beds). They did not provide daily cleaning and when asked why they said "the staff probably ran out of time". As compensation they offered to refund the resort fee for that night but it showed up in our final bill. They also only provide 2 bottles of water per check in which is absolutely bizarre for a booking of 4 occupants. The rooms are clean but the property amenities are just okay.

There is nothing wrong with the property. It is a slightly bit dated, but it is a great place to stay. I have stayed here for both business and leisure. The location is good however, it is surrounded by other run down locations. I assume big storms have ravaged this location. Overall, I will continue to stay here while on the Hilo side of the Big Island. There is a smell of mold on the building entry passageway from storms impacting the carpet. Once you enter into the room the mold smell is gone. Rooms are clean and well kept by housekeeping. Parking is an issue here. You are forced to valet or self park a short walk from the hotel. Restaurant near the pool has excellent food. I recommend the Açaí bowl for morning breakfast. Pancakes are awesome as well. Thank you for the great stay!
