The property was darling with a rich history. Our room was clean and the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. We will stay again next time we are in town.

We have mixed feelings about our weekend at The Colonial Inn. We thought we'd enjoy our stay more than we did. Our room was well-appointed and comfortable. Comfortable bed, good amenities, and ample space. Drawback: the walls are paper thin, and one will hear the guest next door's activities. However, the room had a sound machine, which seemed to do the trick. I read their brunch was good, but the kitchen was closed and not serving brunch that day. Good luck finding anything open around the area before 11:00 AM if you're an early riser. We didn't get to enjoy any other areas around the property since there was a wedding, and pretty much everything else was reserved for that. While I understand the staff's attention and efforts were mostly focused on the wedding, I felt underwhelmed by our experience there. Meh...

We are so glad you had a wonderful room that you enjoyed, and that the noise maker supported with any surrounding sound allowing you for a restful stay! We are also sorry that we did not have brunch this past weekend. After a very busy Easter weekend, we had necessary kitchen maintenance work being done that Sunday. We typically are open and apologize we were not open the day you were here at the property. We are always happy to support with finding alternative options for dining and experiences here in our wonderful little town! We hope you come back to enjoy all that Hillsborough has to offer and thank you again for staying with us!

Beautiful historical hotel with expansive wrap around balcony. The bathroom is updated and very upscale. The room maintained historical ambience while providing modern comfort. The bar is fantastic with many draft options and creative cocktail menu. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but it was full of locals. This is the place to stay.

The room was lovely and recently renovated. The staff was very nice. Walkable to all important areas in the town.
