The staff here tried their best to be helpful to us but the facility itself made that nearly impossible. First, the parking situation is very unideal. We had to park very far away from our room and walk all the way around the building and up two flights of stairs to get to our room. Secondly, the AC in the first room was broken (even said so on the AC itself with notes left for us) and the room was nearly 90 degrees... We requested a different room and the staff were as accomodating as possible. The second room was very dirty, stains on the walls and multiple spots that were stained on the floor. The shower had almost no pressure and the AC, although working, barley kept the room below 80 degrees during our stay. The views were not great either as you are right next to a very messy construction site. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for any length of stay, there are much nicer options less than a mile up the road.

Property is right on the beach and the staff was very friendly. We didn't see any bugs, the AC worked, and the bed was okay. Those are the pros.
The cons... I was disappointed overall. This is not what i expected from a Wingate by Wyndham property. It wasn't the cleanest. The hallways, stairs, and walls were all a little grotty. We only stayed one night and so it was bareable, but i will not be reserving this hotel in the future for our stays in Galveston.

On the way in to the hotel we were advised by another guest to ask for toilet paper, blankets, and towels because these items were not appropriately provided in the room. They were correct.
We found trash on the floor near the bed and the previous guest’s dirty clothes in the closet on the floor.
The room smelled like someone had smoked marijuana in there and sprayed something to try and cover it up.
The vending machine I used dispensed HOT bottles of soda.
The breakfast was not good. The coffee was bad.
This is an older building and does not have an elevator. The staff was very good about helping us with our luggage to our 2nd floor room.
