We booked the 2 bedroom family unit at Puri Maharani for 3 nights. We arrived in the evening with two sleeping children. The condition of this room made it the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Everything we touched was broken or falling apart, the sink, shelf, toilet, the bed frame was falling over and propped against the wall which was crumbling and had an inch thick of dirt and dust and bugs. My son was afraid to sleep in the bed as it seemed ready to fall over. In the morning I couldn’t take a shower because the shower was so dirty I didn’t dare step into it. I thought, ok I’ll just wash the bugs out of the tub and take a bath. The drain didn’t work, so no bath either. The towels and sheets were at least 10 years old with many stains, there was no toilet paper at all, the front door didn’t lock properly and several large cracks were allowing bugs into the room. We left immediately in the morning and the employees refused to give us a refund. They smiled broadly as we left, I’m sure they were surprised we actually stayed for 1 whole night. I do believe that this is their business model, put zero effort into upkeep and just watch people leave and pocket the money.

Very old, poor bathrooms

Does not deserve 4-star rating in my book. The "balinese style" is a translation for very old construction, especially in the bathroom. Bathroom / bathtub is very old, with mold on shower curtain. Does not have a real shower (waist level). we were so dissappointed that we asked to switch rooms, but other rooms were no better! Also, towels were very old-looking with visible stains. the room itself (not the bathroom) was good. WiFi and A/C were great. pool area and breakfast were also great. Staff were really nice and helpful, but nothing can compensate for the bathroom.

Nice Place but Hotel needs repairs.

Pros: Hotel was peaceful and the garden was well looked after.
Cons: Clean the rooms properly, provide water for your guest especially if you can't drink the water. I expected a mosquito net or at least candles
Location: I had to have a taxi called for most of my time in the hotel.
The hotel was beautiful but needed some repairs, my sink leaked, the shower walls and ceiling did not look clean, I had to call to get toilet paper and clean towels. We had mosquitoes, ants and small lizards in the room. On my third day in the hotel my daughter and I slipped on the wet slippery steps and got injured. The next morning a sign was put up.

We provided free shuttle service four times daily, and the last pick up is at 16.30 pm, after that you can use taxi and cost around IDR. 50.000 . We are sorry for the sign not put it on the right place, and we put it back on the stairs. If you come for the next time please ask for ground floor room, if you prefer to have it. We really liked the free shuttle service to the beach/town. We also enjoyed the good food that would be delivered to the room (upon request) without extra charge. Occasionally we had mosquitoes in the room.
