Rubber mat in shower area needs to be thrown out, it is black with mold & mildew. Coffee trays won't fit coffee maker. Reported it to front desk who told me they would replace it. He also blamed a " guest" who probably swapped out the coffee maker, yea right. Came back in evening for 2nd night stay same old coffee maker. Also coffee maker needs to be relocated, it is so high you can't see what you're doing when pouring water into it plus if you spill the water it ends up on the microwave below it. Not a safe situation. I won't be back.

We were met that evening by a sweet older lady who welcomed us kindly and was able to get us checked in (having had a reservation) in no time at all. A comfy smaller room. We had reserved a single queen size bed, but it was a full size, but we slept well and close together like we did when we were first married 40 years ago LOL
The next morning breakfast was fantastic with lots of options. We got to sleep till about 9:00 because checkout isn't until noon (we really liked that)
As we stepped out into the brilliant sunlight after breakfast I noted that the landscaping around the building seemed a bit unkempt, but it's early spring yet in northern Iowa so they may just not have been able to get to it yet.
The buy behind the desk in the morning was cordial and friendly also.
We will definitely be back there if ever we need a motel again in the area! In fact this may be as soon as next month as we are headed for a nieces wedding in Nebraska.
We're from Wisconsin. This time we had been to Kansas to a sister-in-law's funeral.
