We loved our stay at The Francis Marion. Perfect location in the middle of Charleston. We were there for our Anniversary and the staff was polite and check-in was a breeze. We were able to walk to any restaurant/bar and the shopping district is right across the street. Had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay here again

The room was small but it worked. It was pricey but it was based on location. The maid service was outstanding. I feel it should have offered more for what we paid. First time in Charleston, next time probably won’t stay here . Will stay in a different area that is more affordable.

Hotel is very dated. Only two of the three elevators were working and it was a busy holiday weekend. I took the stairs numerous times do to the elevator wait (8 floors)
Bathroom was very small.

Disappointed there was no pool. Hotel doesn’t offer the amenities that the others do. The bar and restaurant lacked atmosphere. Would not stay here again.

Really great property. Many of the amenities weren’t shared with me at check in AT ALL that didn’t make or break my trip but would’ve been really nice to know! FYI If you’re looking for quiet at night DO not stay in the front end of the hotel there’s a rooftop bar that keeps you up till they close if you’re a light sleeper. Also avoid being near the ice machine if you can I was sandwiched between that and the music and it wasn’t fun. Definitely will be specific next time I book but overall the history and esthetics were really beautiful!
