We arrived 2 hours before checkin with a 1yr old and they refused to let us eat and required payment even though it is an all inclusive resort. Very frustrating after we had already spent so much on the trip and after hearing that they give a 4 hr eating pass after checkout that we would not be able to use due to our flight times. The lack of empathy really turned us down from ever coming back. Also FOOD IS TERRIBLE. You don't get variety, its always the same menu. Sushi and bar were the worst!! We left without being able to finish our food and ordered from the same menu we had been eating from for 5 days. It was a bad way to experience cancun. We Recommend that you book a different hotel. We will not be coming back.

This resort was an overall nice resort. It had two main pool which one was considered the party side and the other the quiet side. We are parents of little ones so we enjoyed being able to choice the vibe we wanted to go for each day. The all inclusive is well worth it and the food was really good. The only thing we were disappointed in was the lack of entertainment. We’ve gone to other all inclusive resorts and most have offered entertainment all day and at various locations. They do have a diner and a show you can go to but every night we didn’t want to go to the room yet but we would because there wasn’t nothing else to do. The silver lining in the lack of entertainment was we always went to bed early so we woke up really early and had much more beach and pool time

We loved our stay at the Royal Sands. The one bedroom suite we stayed in was very nice and very clean. The cleaning staff made sure that the place was cleaned every day, towels changed and drinks replenished. The food was pretty good with our favorite being the Hacienda Sisal and the Trattoria at the Royal Cancun. The free shuttle between the Sands and Royal Cancun was a very nice option. Check in/out was very easy. I used the Royal app to do a lot of things like reservations for restaurants. Only negative thing I would say is you needed to go down and reserve pool chairs in order to have a spot. We will definitely come back to this resort again in the future!!!

I am not sure why this property has a 8.8 on Expedia because it is definitely not that. This an old property built in the 80s probably. There’s absolutely no entertainment. All they have is 2 pool sites and the beach. And everything else in the property is less than average. Went here for a graduation celebration and we were told that we have to keep our luggage packed to move from one room to another the next day. Which was a complete waste of our time. I would definitely not recommend this resort. It is very old and outdated and a waste of your money. I would rather pay a little extra and go to a nicer and newer resort with activities and more than 2 places to eat.

Tomas, Roberto Angel, Oscar, and everyone at the pool is absolutely amazing… Jacqueline is so amazing at the front… Everyone just makes you feel like family and they really give you such a great feeling. This is my seventh time going. I have been going every year I am not a timeshare holder and I’m not becoming one, but this resort is absolutely perfect whether you want to be a timeshare holder or a regular guest, who books

Everyone is absolutely amazing! Tomas, Oscar , Angel, Roberto and everyone at the pool.! Jaqueline at the front ! Pedro on the back end! Everyone just makes you feel like family. I absolutely love this resort and I will continue to go back every year as this has been my seventh year. I am not a timeshare holder and I am not going to become one, but this resort is still perfect for me.

no one will explain to you that everything is not included in your package and at the end they just tell you that you have to pay extra Not happy with the and dinner is same menu every night nothing new need upgrade menu
