Historic hotel in heart of shopping district. Well kept, interesting history is displayed on a plaque within hotel. Staff were not knowledgeable about surrounding area. I asked two different staff members multiple questions about area north of Cairns and neither could answer any of them.

On arrival we were told $100 deposit for your room key and $10 per day parking staff were friendly room was clean ver convenient to walking everywhere

Excellent location! Room was clean!
Downside was the walls were paper thin, you could hear everything in rooms next door!

An historic old Hotel, possibly the oldest remaining in Cairns. Has been updated to a good basic level.
Everything you could wish for in a town centre, history hotel.

The staff was very kind and helpful, but the bathroom was covered with ants. The walls are thin and the mattress as well. Good place if you just want to sleep and store luggage but not ideal for enjoying time at the hotel.
