SCAM! Griffin Lodge and Hotels.com are SCAM.

Posted 8 Mar 2022 on Hotels
Griffin Lodge is a SCAM!! We had a confirmed booking on this place for February 25-27, 2022, also paid online and that it is no refund for any cancellations or rebooking. When we arrived, the whole place was barricaded with bamboo fencing. There were bystanders outside dilly dallying which looks weird and told us that there is nobody inside and that the place has been non-operational for more than two years. We tried contacting all the phone numbers associated with Griffin Lodge and there was no response or they are out of coverage. even the hotels.com is of NO help at all. None of any of the numbers are working. The next day on February 26, 2022, I recieved an e-mail that we have “signed-in” to the Lodge and that they have confirmed our stay with Hotels.com. We tried acting against it and complain to all the contact numbers but they all could not be reach.

Dishonored my Confirmed and Fully Paid Booking

Posted 2 Dec 2019 on Hotels
#GRIFFINLODGE IS the worst and most EVIL place in Baguio. Scammer!!! The front desk SARAH MARAVILLAS has perfected her evil role of playing dumb with her annoying standard reply of "DI KO PO ALAM" They post their property in Hotels.com and yet they will not honor your paid and confirmed booking. The modus operandi is #GriffinLodgeBaguio will accept your payment thru Hotels.com / Expedia and then will bump you off as they are not aware of your booking and that they are fully booked and that they gave your confirmed and paid room to another guest! Worse is it is not a product of sheer miscommunication between the online partner and Griffin BUT AN ORCHESTRATED SCAMMING ACTIVITY THRU THE YEARS. WHAT #GRIFFINLODGE does is it will post the property in Hotels.com / Expedia for P3,352 (Nov 30 - Dec 1, 2019) inclusive of taxes, then will dishonor your confirmed and paid booking upon your arrival in this evil place. After hours of stressful negotiation, it's either the frustrated and exhausted guest (1) leaves the place without getting any apologies, compensation or refund from Griffin Lodge; or (2) continuously, patiently and religiously bombard the front desk Sarah Maravillas with guilt poking profanities, counter evilness rebuttals, etc. On Nov 30, 2019 alone, 10 out of 11 paid bookings made thru online sites like Hotels.com and Expedia opted to choose course of action 1 . I was the sole guest who pursued the 2nd course of action from 5pm to 8pm with the other bumped off guests

Its like vacationing in Baguio in the old tradition of living in a big house with a fireplace and many rooms (9) and several families of friends and relatives together. I only dont like that they are organized in their check in procedure (no computer). Also, they should always keep the kitchen very clean. They should also offer to clean the rooms daily. They can tie-up with a restaurant to offer delivered room service and/or bfst. Staff are very nice and helpful but are not hotel-trained. But i would recommend. I also like the location. I might even invite my relatives next time when we go as a group.

Felt at home

Posted 22 Feb 2018
It was our home away from home! Very accommodating staff plus we were allowed early check in at 5am without extra cost! We were able to use their kitchen and dining room, night session at the verandah, plus enjoyed the comforts of the living room when it got too cold outside. We will definitely come back!

The hotel personnel are friendly and accommodating. There is an AC unit so that's a good thing but the cable TV only shows few channels and the remote controls do not work.

They overbook

Posted 1 Feb 2018 on Hotels
I booked Rm 104 but was accommodated at Rm 103 bec. 104 was already booked by other guests (they overbooked a single room). Fortunately, the guests for Rm 103 cancelled/rescheduled so it was freed for us to stay. For future guests/other travelers, if you want to stay at Griffin, kindly phone/email them to confirm upon booking online so they won't overbooked the room. Good place to stay, tho, except room 103 is beside the water tanks. It get a bit noisy since the tanks are on automatic meaning even at nights when the water level gets low, it will automatically turn on. Not a good background sound to sleep on. Beware of the area also, the night we're going to the hotel after eating out, a guy approached us selling stolen phones.
